Mediterranean Princess Cruise

Nines days of travel, adventure, and food, with moments and places that we will never forget! We traveled from Toronto to Rome, Naples, Crete, Kusadasi, Istanbul, Mykonos, Athens and back to Toronto, with an extra day in Rome and Athens. The best way to share our vacation with you is to break it down into different locations…Nine locations, the above eight, and our cruise ship…So lets start with the Regal Princess! (Psst…This is our first cruise ever!)

The Regal Princess MedallionClass made her debut in 2014 and was refurbished in 2017, with a length of 1,082′ and holding 3.560 passengers she is a beautiful site to see as you approach the docks.

Boarding was a wonderful experience for us, about 20 minutes to get off the bus, walk through the security checks, check in with a Princess Rep, receive our Medallions (BEST THING EVER), and board the ship! We found our state room with no problems! In our cabin, they had everything prepared, our excursion tickets were in an envelope waiting to be used, an outline of the cruise journey and of the day was available for viewing and instruction on safety and our muster station requirements. We checked everything out, took a look at the balcony, dropped our carry on items and went to explore the ship. Some of the wonderful amenities are listed here

OK, now you are asking what is MedallionClass??? Well is 100% of pure awesomeness, packaged in wearable, quarter-sized Medallion. We choose to wear ours as a watch, but your options are plenty, different styles of bracelets, watches, necklaces and a lanyard.

What does it do…Almost Everything!

• Have your Medallion shipped to your home and between the app and the Medallion, when you become “OceanReady”, boarding is a breeze
• Sitting there relaxing and need a drink – order on the app – delivered right to you! They know where you are based on your Medallion! We had many Pina Coladas delivered to the hot tub – Thank you Medallion!
• Pay with you Medallion, find others that are traveling with you, play games, and so much more!
• For excursions – scan on and off the ship within seconds by tabbing your wrist on the screen

FOOD?!? – I have to say that we had no idea what to expect as far as food, buffet, restaurants, snacks, any of it! AMAZING, all of it! The buffet had a little of everything and I am sure that even the pickiest of eaters could walk away full. They also had offerings of food from the port we were located in, so you could eat American or flavors from a different country. The restaurants were really nicely decorated and offered a different menu each night – Tenderloins to lobsters to steaks – all prepared and served as a 3 course meal. Do you like to snack will you are on vacation? At the pool we found hot dogs, burgers, fries and pizza – everything you need when ordering an ice cold beer and relaxing in the sun, or if the kids get hungry, lol!

Beverages, bars, lounges, music, entertain – it’s all endless! You can choose to take it in or to sit back and relax. I guess that is the beauty of a cruise – you have X number of levels to explore and they each offer something different. You can soak in the hot tub or swim in the pool, change for dinner and on your way stop by the Crooners Bar for some piano music. After dinner, take in a show, try your luck in the Casino or walk to the aft of the vessel, order a glass of wine from Outriggers Bar and enjoy the sunset on the Horizon Terrace.

Our experience with Princess and our sail on the Princess Regal was a truly wonderful experience. The wait for our excursions to start were a little lengthy, and they seem to be a little understaffed – but given the environment that we are living in right now, this is hitting all industries. They were professional, kind, accommodating and our vacation was what it should be – a time to relax, have fun, and not sweat the small things.

Do we recommend Princess Cruise – YES! We cannot wait to cruise with them again – The MedallionClass is a game changer…A must try!
