Discovering Sandals South Coast
This resort was a many of firsts for us...1st Sandals resort, 1st time in Jamaica, and 1st luxury resort! The trip from Montego Bay to South Coast is about 1.5 to 2 hours...you can circle around through Negril or up and over in the center as our driver did.
Sandals South Coast is set along a 2-mile stretch of beach and is laid out in a very user friendly way. The resort is bright and has a modern feel to it offering dining at 9 restaurants, premium liquors at 7 bars, including swim-up bar and a stocked bar in every room. Sandals South Coast also offers the relaxed vibes of romance whether walking on the beach or relaxing in one the pools.
For fun in the sun why not try scuba diving, waterskiing or tubing, hobie cats and so much more. The crystal clear waters in Jamaica allow for amazing water activities - we were able to see the amazing marine life, including trumpet fish, from the docks.
Our room for the night was Starlight Beachfront Luxury Room w/ Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub, AMZING...We opened the door to the room and you can see straight out to the ocean, the view was stunning. At the end of the day, pour yourself a hot bath on your balcony and watch the ocean go by as the sunsets...
Our overall thoughts: The beach offers compacted sands (easier for walking) the waters are clear with many trumpet fish other wonderful marine life, but the ocean floor was different, we found ourselves sinking into the sand about 2 inches. The food, beverages, and staff were all absolutely amazing. The view here was more than we ever excepted and with a short walk from our room to the pool to the beach we were really impressed with Sandals South Coast.
Personal tip: Make sure to visit Café de Paris for a cup of great coffee and an amazing crepe! So freaking delicious!
