Azamara Pursuit: Small Ship, Big Heart

Our Azamara Pursuit Experience ✨

We just returned from sailing on the Azamara Pursuit, and wow - what an experience! With fewer than 708 guests on board, it truly felt like we were part of a close-knit community at sea. The staff were incredibly friendly and genuine — by the end of the week, we knew many of them by name (and they knew ours!).

Azamara Pursuit is definitely a luxury ship, but not in a stuffy or pretentious way. We’re both tattooed and tend to dress more on the sporty side than the formal one, and we felt completely at home. The whole atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed - just the way we like it.

The pool area was lovely, and we never had trouble finding a sun lounger. With one pool and two hot tubs, there was always space to unwind and enjoy the sunshine.

One of the biggest perks of small ship cruising came to life in Santorini. We tendered ashore, climbed all 588 steps to the top (and yes, walked all 588 back down again!), wandered the charming streets, and then came back to find the crowds from the larger ships - MSC, Royal Caribbean, and Crystal - all waiting in massive lines for tenders. We started walking toward the back of the line expecting ours to be there… only to find Azamara’s tender area empty. No wait, no crowd - just smiling faces, cold towels, and refreshing drinks. Within minutes, we were back on board. That’s the magic of small ship cruising

The food was another highlight - whether dining at Discoveries or grabbing something at the buffet, everything was excellent. We loved the themed nights, the variety, and the fact that no matter where we ate, the service was top-notch.

But what stood out the most was the comfort of the ship. Every space - from The Den and The Living Room to the Card Room - felt cozy, welcoming, and easy to settle into. And we can’t forget how amazing it was to dock so close to the heart of each city. To step off the ship (with no line!) and walk right into town was such a treat and made exploring so effortless.

We absolutely love Azamara, and it’s safe to say we’re hooked. In fact, our next Azamara adventure is already booked - Egypt, here we come!
